Grace Gerbing, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Grace Gerbing, M.S., CCC-SLP, earned her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona. Grace has experience evaluating and treating children with a wide variety of speech, language, communication, and feeding needs. Prior to joining pediatric private practice, she gained experience across a variety of settings, including home health, outpatient clinics, and public schools.

Grace finds joy in partnering with families and collaborating with other professionals to provide comprehensive, individualized care that helps children reach their full potential. Her favorite part of being a speech-language pathologist is helping children find their voice and fostering meaningful interactions between children and their caregivers. She strives to make therapy fun, engaging, and purposeful while developing functional skills that carry over into a child’s everyday life.

Grace has pursued extensive advanced training across several areas of pediatric speech-language pathology. She has a special interest in apraxia, articulation, and speech sound disorders and has completed training in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) with Dr. Edythe Strand, the Kaufman Apraxia System, PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), TalkTools Oral Placement Therapy, and Amy Graham’s approaches to Cycles Phonological Intervention and lateral lisp remediation.

Grace also has specialized training in orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT), including Simon Says OMT and specialty training with Mary Brezik, M.S., CCC-SLP/OMT. This training supports her work with children whose speech and feeding needs may be impacted by oral motor patterns and orofacial function.

In the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Grace has completed Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) and Moving Forward with LAMP training with John D. Halloran, M.S., CCC-SLP, as well as PRC-Saltillo training focused on helping AAC users move beyond basic requesting and develop more robust, functional communication.

Grace has also completed extensive training in pediatric feeding and swallowing, including Sensory-Motor Feeding with Lori Overland, M.S., CCC-SLP; Pediatric Swallowing and Feeding: The Essentials with Catherine Shaker, M.S., CCC-SLP, BCS-S; Your Feeding Toolkit and ARFID: The Anxious Eater with Melanie Potock, M.S., CCC-SLP; and Feeding Therapy 101 with Rhonda Wilson, M.S., CCC-SLP. These approaches support her ability to work with children with a variety of feeding challenges while considering sensory, motor, swallowing, behavioral, and family factors.

Her additional training includes DIR 101: An Introduction to DIR and DIRFloortime, supporting relationship-based and developmentally appropriate approaches for children with autism and social communication needs. She has also completed specialized early language training through More Than “More”: Assessment and Intervention for First Words with Susan Lederer, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, further supporting her work with young children and their families during the critical early stages of language development.

Outside of the clinic, Grace enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active, listening to podcasts, exploring new food spots, and playing with her puppy.
