Emily Ward, M.S., CF-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Emily earned her B.S. and M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Mississippi. Before joining Greater Atlanta Speech and Hearing Clinics, she worked in outpatient and hospital settings providing care for individuals with neurogenic communication disorders, including post-stroke aphasia, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurogenic conditions.

Emily was also involved in clinical research, examining multimodal communication treatments, incorporating gestures, drawing, writing, and communication devices via telepractice for people with aphasia. Emily has also gained extensive experience with pediatric populations, supporting children with autism spectrum disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, feeding and swallowing difficulties, and a variety of speech, language, and social communication challenges. Across all ages, Emily strives to empower clients with functional, individualized strategies to enhance communication in daily life.

Emily has also pursued additional training in Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) approaches, Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for childhood apraxia, Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP), SPEAK OUT!, Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), and SALT-20 for language analysis.

Outside of speech-language pathology, Emily loves exploring the outdoors, watching Ole Miss sports, birdwatching, visiting museums/nature centers, drawing, gardening, cooking, spending quality time with her husband, and visiting friends and family back home in Mississippi.
