Athena Yang, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Athena earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Mississippi State University, where she was a D1 athlete on the Mississippi State Women’s Golf Team. She has experience working in an outpatient pediatric setting and is passionate about providing child-led therapy and neurodivergent-affirming approaches to her practice. Athena is dedicated to empowering children and families to advocate for their needs and live meaningful lives.
Athena has a strong interest in interprofessional collaboration, community-based programs, and global and public health. As an OT student, she was a research assistant and co-authored two presentations on family-centered oral health, which were presented at the American Public Health Association Conference. Additionally, Athena participated in a 10-day immersion in Oaxaca, MX, where she gained insights into social determinants of health and their impact on health outcomes and access to services. She is excited to combine her passions to deliver quality care to children and families.
Originally from Minnesota, Athena was raised in Florida and now resides in Georgia. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, playing board games, and indulging in cozy hobbies with tea or coffee.
