Amanda McKendrick, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida State University and her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Georgia State University. She is originally from Florida and moved to the Atlanta area in 2022.

Amanda loves working with children and families, and has experience supporting children from birth through young adulthood. She has a special passion for early intervention (ages 0–3) and enjoys helping young children build strong communication skills during their earliest years. Amanda has worked with children with a wide variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, fluency disorders, developmental delays, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and intellectual disabilities.

Amanda is a diverse, family-centered clinician who enjoys working with children and families from many different backgrounds and cultures. She is experienced in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and works closely with families and device companies to help children access and personalize communication systems that fit their individual needs. She is familiar with AAC systems, such as LAMP, WordPower, Unity, and CoughDrop.

Amanda values learning and teaching within naturalistic environments to help children generalize skills beyond the therapy room and into everyday life. She has a special interest in early intervention as well as supporting adolescents transitioning into the community, as they prepare for life after high school.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, shopping, meeting with friends and family, and doing large floor puzzles!
